Music filled the Currier Memorial School (CMS) gymnasium for one last time at the Annual Spring Concert. From Beethoven’s Ode to Joy, to traditional tunes and patriotic songs including, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and America the Beautiful, students from the Pre-K through 5th grade demonstrated their learning in voice and instruments to a proud crowd of families, friends, and staff.
“These kids show their appreciation for music every day,” said CMS musical instructor Kathryn Luzador. “I am so grateful for having the opportunity to work with these talented children.”
This year’s concert doubled as the showcase of the Currier Spring Art Show. The gymnasium was filled with the creative and colorful displays of pottery and painting from the young artists that delighted the assembled audience.
“This evening was another wonderful example of our Currier community coming together to celebrate our students and all that they have accomplished as musicians and artists,” said Carolyn Parillo, CMS Principal. “It takes a lot for anyone to show their talents to an audience, and our students gave their absolute best!”
For the grand finale, all students and staff assembled onstage for a full throated rendition of the Vermont State Song, These Green Mountains:
They say home is where the heart is,
These green mountains are my home

A mural of Danby, painted by all Currier students, was featured as part of the Art Show at the school’s Spring Concert.
