Currier Families

The cars parked around the Currier Memorial School held far more than spare tires in their trunks. In a jumpstart to Halloween, the Danby school celebrated the creepy, crawly holiday with its Annual Trunk or Treat Celebration on Sunday, October 26th.

The gathering of monsters, witches, skeletons and kids shrieking in scary delight had the parent volunteers of Project Currier Experience to thank for all the candy and other treats. For once, sweets were not simply allowed, they were encouraged.

“Our parents do so much to make our school better,” said CMS Principal Carolyn Parillo. “Throughout the year they conduct projects to raise funds that add special services, activities and events for our kids.”

And Currier’s witches, vampires and ghosts — and possibly a Taylor Swift or two — are not ready to hang-up their costumes for next year. On Thursday afternoon, the kids will don their masquerades again for a parade through town to the Danby-Mt. Tabor Veterans Memorial. No doubt it will be a frightfully good time for all.
